Befriending

Some of our befrienders take clients on a day out.

Many elderly or disabled people are unable to get out much due to their infirmity, and so can become lonely.

Our befrienders can visit them at home to bring in a little of the outside world. They may have a chat about everyday issues, enjoy  a game of cards or encourage the client to contact old friends again.

Sometimes, our befrienders are able to take clients on days out to local ammenities, such as the park or shops, giving them the opportunity to meet others and enjoy the fresh air, very important if you are housebound.

If you would like to know more about our Befriending Scheme, or would like to become a volunteer befriender, please call Ann Hopley on 01634 362119, or download the leaflet in the Publications section.
